FAQs

Can you tell me more about TAG?
TAG is a part of North American River Runners (NARR), an outdoor adventure company based in Hico, WV. NARR has been in business since 1975 and is one of the oldest and largest outfitters in West Virginia. What does that mean to you? Behind the scenes, our guides and support staff – among the most highly trained and experienced in the industry – pull out all the stops so you can relax and enjoy the important things: friends, family, co-workers, and having a good time.

Is participation required by everyone?
Most NARR activities, including rafting, do require some level of individual participation. However, activities vary and NARR staff will make every effort to accommodate the needs of your group.

Does my group have to be physically fit?
NARR's corporate programs are designed to include everyone. We offer a variety of options and will be happy to specifically structure an agenda to challenge all levels and abilities equally.

Can we have a private trip?
Corporate activities for TAG options are exclusive to your group. Both rafting and paintball can be either private for your group or mixed with the public, according to price considerations.

What can I do to be prepare my group for your TAG program?
Whether you will be doing a TAG program at NARR or at another site, we strongly encourage that you follow our dress guidelines so that you may enjoy the best experience possible! Below are some recommendations from our TAG Coordinators, please feel free to call 1-800-950-2585, ext. 326 if you should have any further questions.

• Dress comfortably! With some of the TAG programs it is imperative that you wear comfy, flexible clothing that you are able to do physical activity in. For outdoor programs, take into consideration the weather and elements. You may need extra clothing to protect yourself from the sun, rain or wind, layers of clothing work best.

• Wear proper footwear! Once again, it is important to wear footwear that you are comfortable in and that you can do physical activity with. Close-toed shoes are necessary (no exceptions). Socks are recommended with your shoes, with outdoor programs you may want to wear higher socks to protect yourself from poison ivy and other abrasive plants and equipment.

Can you tell me more about whitewater rafting?
Whitewater team building is an innovative team building experience, combining NARR’s TAG program and the beautiful whitewater of West Virginia. Portions of our whitewater playground are transformed into a team building initiative as well as an amazing whitewater adventure. Under the observant eyes of your guide and facilitator, your team will have the opportunity to challenge themselves on and off the river. Whitewater team building involves combining many activities to focus on your teams’ goals while at the same time enjoying the beautiful river environment. You can learn much more at NARR's Whitewater FAQ page.

Can you tell me more about paintball?
Paintball is an exciting game that combines strategy, quick wits, cooperation and humor to provide great fun on our huge outdoor playing field. Come with a group, or come by yourself and join others to form a team. Reduce your stress level with outrageous fun. Before beginning play, each person is outfitted with coveralls, face mask, and a CO2-powered marker which uses marble-sized, water-soluble paintballs. A referee will explain the safety rules, and then instruct the teams in a variety of incredibly fun games.

How do I get there?
